Come join your fellow Illini at the Detroit Illini Club's annual community service event in Detroit! This year we will be helping the Greening of Detroit plant trees at a local school. It's a great way to enjoy the spring outdoors, meet fellow alumni, and help give Detroit middle schoolers a beautiful space in which to learn and play. To sign up, please follow these easy steps to reserve your spot:

•    Event Details
o    Date: Saturday, May 10, 2025
o    Time: 9am-1pm (if you can't make the whole window, that is ok - join us when and for as long as you can)
o    Location: Martin Luther King Jr. High School, 3200 E Lafayette St, Detroit, MI, 48207

•    Use the link below to go to the planting event on Eventbrite:

o    Click on "Reserve a Spot" on the right side of the page to register
o    Enter your personal information. In the field that says "Company" please make sure to enter "Detroit Illini Club" so they know you are part of the group reservation.
o    Each attendee will need to register separately

•    Reserve your FREE, one of a kind, Make an Impact t-shirt
o    Send your t-shirt size and desired color (orange or blue) to detroitillini@gmail.com by April 30. 
o    Only M, L, XL available in Blue, all sizes available in Orange

•On the day, prepare for the following:
o    Wear close-toed work shoes / boots
o    Bring work / gardening gloves
o    Dress for the weather & to get messy (We plant rain or shine, please wear layers)
o    Bring water Bottle / Snack (refillable water jug on site)
